Weekend Recap

Not only was this past weekend fun but we were also somewhat productive at home!  Since we have been running here and there so much lately many of the items on our "to do" list have fallen by the wayside.  However, I took full advantage of being at home this weekend and I'm happy to report I was able to tackle one of the items on our ever growing list - paint Madelyn's bathroom!!

On Saturday we were invited to Nate and Amy's house for a pool party!  The weather was perfect, the drinks were cold, there was plenty of food to go around and the pool was a balmy 83 degrees (according to Nate).  It was a perfect day to hang out with friends, that we don't see nearly as often as we'd like, and Madelyn had a blast in the pool!

When we got home from the pool party Madelyn practiced walking in heels.  Shoes seem to be her latest obsession!  And, I must admit she's pretty darn good at walking in them too!

Sunday morning we had a little dance party and then ran around until it was time for lunch and then a nap.  

On Sunday we headed over to Pat and Angie's for a little play date and dinner.  After a few minutes the girls warmed right up to each other and had some much fun running around and chasing after each other.  We are pretty sure they were having an eating contest too because man did they eat good.  Madelyn must have had at least a cup of fruit, 1 and 1/2 hot dogs, some sweet corn and then topped it all off with a fruit popsicle!  After dinner the girls ran around outside for a bit and then we headed home.  After a quick bath Madelyn was in bed and sound a sleep shortly after her normal bedtime.  Although we were sure she wouldn't last long after all the running around these two did.

Once Madelyn was in bed I finished trimming the bathroom and completely finish all the painting last night.  Then it's all about the finishing touches.  I already have the accessories but now I need to find a few things to dress up the walls a bit.  Hopefully it will be totally done before the end of August :)
