5 Months =]

Weight: at her last dr. appt on June 14 she was 13lb 11ozs (34%)

Length:
25 ¼ inches (69%)

Diaper Size: we’ve moved up to size 2!

Clothes Size: If there’s one thing I’ve learned over this past month its different brands of clothes fit her differently.  She’s into 6 month outfits if they are Carters but if I put her in 6 month of other brands she seems to be swimming in them.  I’m super excited that the weather is finally nice and she’s able to wear all of the adorable dresses, jumpers, etc. she’s received from family and friends.  I may be a little bias but she sure looks cute in her little dresses with matching shorts/diaper cover!

Eye Color: BABY BLUES!

Hair Color: We still are not sure what color her hair is going to be.  Sometimes it looks lighter like its going to stay a strawberry blonde or red and other times we think it’s going to be brown.  I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Sleep: She’s been sleeping through the night for quite some time now.  I think it’s because she’s exhausted from school.  She doesn’t want to miss a thing so she doesn’t sleep very long, just a couple short cat naps that are 15-30 minutes every few hours.  We try to get her to bed by 7:30 p.m. and she usually sleeps until about 6:30-7:00 a.m.  She even slept through the recent thunderstorms.  There were a couple big cracks of thunder but she didn’t even flinch.

Food: She’s been taking down 6ozs four times a day for quite a few days.  Every once in a great while she’s have an extra bottle and get to 30ozs but it’s rare.  But her doctor wasn’t concerned because she continues to gain weight.  It’s hard to believe in a month we will be introducing her to food, we’re going to tackle making our own baby food…wish us luck!  Just kidding, I’ve heard it’s pretty easy from a few others that make their own.

Activity: I think it’s completely amazing how quickly she learns new skills and tricks.  This month she started rolling from her back to her tummy!  She also sticks her butt up in the air, puts her head down and tries to get up on her knees.  She’s going to be crawling before long!  She's also able to reach and grab for toys and she scoots herself around when she's on her tummy or back if she wants to get a toy that is slightly out of her reach.  She continues to drool like crazy so we keep thinking she’s getting another tooth but nothing has popped through yet.  She’s found her feet and continues to reach for them, pull them up towards her face and lift them up only to slam them back down – she thinks it’s pretty funny.  We continue to practice sitting up, she’s getting stronger every day.

She’s also been a lot more vocal lately.  As you can see from the post last week, she enjoys blowing raspberries.  She also loves to talk and babble.  We were on a walk a couple weeks ago and she talked herself to sleep!  She usually talks on the way to and from school and after she finishes her bottle.  AND, she’s started to giggle which has to be the cutest sound ever :)

We also celebrated Madelyn’s baptism on June 9 – but I’ll do a separate post on that with photos from the day.  She did great and looked adorable in her gown =]
