Weight: at her 6 month
check up on July 18th she was 15lbs
Length: 26 ¼ inches
Diaper Size: still sporting the
size 2!
Clothes Size: Still wearing 6 month
size clothes. With all of the nice weather she has been able to wear quite a
few of her cute dresses and jumpers. I think that she will be too tall for
everything before she actually fits into them size wise. We wore two new outfits
from Fiona and Friends (A blue lacey romper and pink lacey bloomer) for her 6
months photos.
Eye Color: Brilliant BLUE!
Hair Color: Still seems to be
getting darker but not sure if it will be a darker blond or a lighter brown. I
guess we will just have to wait and see.
Sleep: We’ve taken a little
step back for sleep. Since Madelyn started wearing her helmet and started
getting her rashes she has been waking up. It started with two or three times
but is now down to one. We hope we will get back to sleeping through the night soon.
We have also started sleep training where she will go to bed tired and then
fall asleep instead of being rocked to sleep. So far it has been going really
well and we hope to be fully trained in the coming weeks.
Food: She’s been taking down 7ozs four times a day for quite some time. We have also moved on to stage 1 solids. We have been on quite a roll trying rice cereal, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans (not her favorite), peas, squash, apples, bananas, mangos and apples/strawberries. She really enjoys eating solids and does a great job! We can’t wait to continue trying different combinations.
Activity: We have seen the biggest change in activity from 5 to 6 months. Madelyn’s favorite activity is sitting up. She wants to sit any chance she can get. While sitting she reaches to grab her toys and does not fall over. She is also becoming more independent and will sit and play on her own. We will watch from a distance with a smile on our faces. She still enjoys tummy time and is able to rotate herself around in a circle. We are still waiting to see her crawl but so far she just sticks her little butt up into the air. In the last week she has been able to stand for just a second but it seems like only a matter of time before she will be able to stand holding on to something. Madelyn is also getting her second tooth which is right next to the first one on the bottom. Besides the drooling getting another tooth has not seemed to bother her. We are continually amazed at all the facial expressions and laugh everyday at something funny she does.
