Making Babies the Bennett Way: Weekend Recap - 14th Annual Silent No More Walk/Run for Ovarian Cancer

This weekend sure felt busy, well at least Saturday did. We started the day off bright and early with about 3,500 other people at the 14th Annual Silent More More Walk/Run for Ovarian Cancer at Rosland Park in Edina. It was our 5th and Madelyn's 1st time participating in the walk. In addition to Ryan and Madelyn, team Sara's Supporters consisted of my sister, parents, in-laws, two good friends, one with her daughter, and one of my cousins all came out to support and walk with me. Thankfully, it's only a 2k walk because it was hot and sticky out! Here are a few pictures from the walk.

Madelyn did great at the walk! She was wide awake, talking, smiling and letting anyone and everyone hold her. We're thankful she's such a laid back baby and is comfortable meeting new family and friends. She fell asleep at the very start of the walk and woke up as soon as we were done. Just in time to eat a little lunch before taking another little snooze in the car on the way home.

Later Saturday afternoon we met up with some of Ryan's co-workers at a local hotel for a little get together. There's a group of people from Cork, Ireland who have been here for about six weeks and they wanted to throw a little get together and make traditional Irish food for everyone. They made beef stew, lamb stew, corn beef with potatoes and cabbage and a couple different desserts. One had bananas and caramel in it, it was delish!

Again, Madelyn did great! She was the life of the party, talking to everyone, smiling, observing everything and didn't mind one of Ryan's co-workers holding her. To keep with the Irish theme of the party she worn the only Irish thing she had, her "My 1st St. Patrick's Day" bib - they loved it! Here are a couple pictures from before we left home. Just for giggles I included a photo of when she wore it the first time, for St. Patty's day, she looks so little :)
