Madelyn couldn't believe she's 11 month old already either, she
was sure we had the wrong sticker ;-)
Weight: When we took her into the doctor
earlier in December she weighted about 20 ½ lbs so we’re guessing by now she
probably weighs about 21 lbs.
Length: We upgraded Lovie
to a convertible car seat in Ryan’s car because she was out growing her infant
seat. It made sense to put the new car
seat in Ryan’s car because he does pick up and drop off at school, since they
are in the same building. Eventually we
need to get another one for Sara’s car but for now the infant seat works.
Diaper Size: Still sporting the
size 3s
Clothes Size: She still is
wearing 9-12 month outfits but some of the pants are getting short because of
her long legs so we’re definitely moving into 12 month pants.
Eye Color: Baby Blues!
Hair Color: Still looks kind
of strawberry blonde from time to time but mostly looks light brown and it
seems to be growing so much!
Sleep: She still loves to
sleep and does well at night however she had a cold for two and a half weeks so
she woke up from coughing and a stuffy nose.
Naps are still somewhat of a struggle.
She will take a good nap if we’re in the car or if she sleeps in your
arms. But if you try and move her to her
crib she wakes up and that’s the end of the nap. Therefore, we’re welcome to suggestions on
how to get her to take naps her in crib for longer than 30 minutes! Although on the flip side if she sleeps too
much during the day she doesn’t sleep well at night so it’s a double edged
sword so to speak.
Food: Madelyn has
quickly transitioned to solid foods. She
enjoys eating ham, cheese, green beans, potatoes, noodles, refried beans,
tortillas, pancakes, waffles, banana bread, and homemade noodles from the chicken
noodle soup we had at Christmas. She’s
also started to eat solids at school; today she had pears, beets and a chicken
patty. She’s doing great with everything! We’re looking forward to starting the
transition to whole milk soon and saying goodbye to expensive formula!
Activity: She’s still not
interested in crawling. She would much
rather scoot around on her little bum or hold onto your hands and walk
around. Just before Christmas she got
her first pair of real shoes and LOVES them.
When she sees them she scoots over to them, hands them to you and sits
there waiting for you to put them on!
Then once they are on you better watch out because then she can really
get walking. She is also exploring
everything around her and has gotten much better at pulling herself up to a
standing position. This month she
reached another milestone when she finally learned how to sit up on her
own. For the longest time we were
wondering when she was going to figure it out and then one night at about 2
a.m. she was restless and when Sara turned on the monitor she was surprised to
see Madelyn just sitting up in her crib looking around. Since then she’s become a pro at rolling over,
getting up on all fours and swinging her leg around to sit down, it’s so
cute!
We are still trying to come to grips with the fact that our
sweet 6 pound 10 ounce little lady is going to be 1 in a few short weeks. The last eleven months have been
amazing. We’ve made so many fantastic
memories and we’re looking forward to creating many more!
It's Tuesday so I'm linking up with Kristin for Baby Talk!

What a cutie!
ReplyDeleteNaps are so hard. No advice, but I hope you find something that works for you!
