Nine Months Old - Holy Cow!

Weight: 19 pounds 4.4 ounces

Length: 28.50 inches (2 feet 4.5 inches)

Diaper Size: I think we will be in 3’s for awhile

Clothes Size: The majority of her clothes are 9 months if not 9-12 months.

Eye Color: BLUE!

Hair Color: We think Lovie’s hair continues to get darker but others have said they think it’s lighter.  It’s definitely growing faster it won’t be long before she’ll be able to rock some cute little pigtails!

Sleep: Last month Lovie wasn’t sleeping well because of a lingering cough which the doctor said was a sinus infection.  She was given some antibiotics and by Thursday, two days after her appointment, her cough was pretty much gone and she seemed to be feeling much better and her sleep definitely improved.  She still doesn’t take the best naps at school (daycare) but then again if she takes really long naps at home on the weekend she seems to wake up more a night.  Now that the weather has been getting cooler we’ve started to put her in her fleece pjs and a fleece sleep sack so she’s plenty warm at night because using a blanket freaks me out!

Food:
Not much new with food, she’s eating plenty of the Gerber 2nd foods and we’ve started giving her some of the 3rd foods too but they can be hit or miss.  The first time we gave her the pasta primavera she sucked everything off the noodle and with one exhale spit out the noodle.  It was pretty funny.  We’re thinking about starting more 3rd foods and other foods that we eat to get her used to different tastes and textures.

Activity:
Man oh man this girl does not stop moving!  I think this is one of the most common things people say to us when they are around her.  What can we say the girl likes to move, shake and kick her feet all over the place!  She also enjoys doing art projects.  Finger paint is a big hit with her unless of course you’re trying to get her to paint a giant pumpkin.  Note to self, next year get the little lady a little pumpkin not one that’s bigger than she is because she’s not a fan.

This month Miss M has also gotten much more vocal.  Although it’s not like she was all too quiet before but now she’s found different pitches and likes to do a high pitch squeal.  She also seems to have a few different laughs depending on how funny we really are :)

To this day we are still amazed by our little miracle.  We can’t believe how fast the time has flown by and in just a couple short months, that will really fly by due to the holidays, she will be a year old!  She’s starting to explore things more that she’s somewhat mobile and recently had her first school conference!  Yep, our 9 month old had her first school conference.  Here’s a recap of what her first school report said:

Describe this child’s strengths in social-emotional, physical, language and cognitive development:
  • Extremely social, loves group time but also content watching her friends
  • Content with independent play
  • Starting to explore the room on her own now
  • Lots of smiles and a happy little girl
Describe this child’s strengths in learning literacy, math, science and technology, social studies and the arts:
  • Enjoys art and likes different textures
  • Independently will look at books along with enjoying group story time
Plan for this child’s development and learning:
  • Readiness for the transition room
Hopefully all of her school reports will be this positive!
